Our client, an international NYC law firm, is looking for an Attorney Development Manager to join their team. Main responsibilities include coordinating a vast range of attorney development and staffing activities for given practice areas in the New York Office, or multiple offices, in necessary. This job function includes partnering with the Diversity & Inclusion Team to ensure a diverse talent pipeline, aiding practice group leaders in developing the firm’s attorneys to their highest potential, and participating in workforce planning for attorney development needs.

Responsibilities:
• Monitor attorney development to ensure attorneys are progressing along the practice area's desired developmental trajectory and follow-up on development plans.
• Partner with practice group leaders to ensure attorneys are receiving clear and practical feedback
• Manage information flow in the required systems and policy compliance
• Ensure that the professional development needs of diverse attorneys, women and those on reduced schedules are met
• Collaborate with the Learning and Development Team to define and develop practice area specific programs to satisfy identified development need
• Track, aggregate and analyze attorney metrics including availability information and utilization rates.
• Ensure consistency of experiences and equitable distribution of assignments across the practice area
• Keep track of vacation schedules to ensure that plans are in place for necessary coverage
• Become familiar with individual attorney professional aspirations, experiences, strengths and development needs
• Prepare review messages and performance summaries
• Facilitate attorney review meetings and evaluation processes for the practice
• Coordinate with the Recruiting Team on new hires, summer program and mentor program
Educational requirements:
Bachelor's Degree required; Juris Doctor preferred
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree required; Juris Doctor preferred
• 5 years of relevant law firm or professional services experience – HR services experience required
• Knowledge of viDesktop is a plus
• Ability to protect and maintain highly confidential and sensitive information
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Keen attention to detail, ability to work independently and strong sense of judgment
